Industry vet Verdu departs Netflix

Mike Verdu has reportedly left Netflix.

That’s according to Game File, which reports that it has confirmation from a rep for the streaming giant that the industry veteran has departed. Verdu joined Netflix back in 2021 to head up its then-new games business.

He moved to a new position, heading up generative artificial intelligence for games, and was replaced by Epic veteran Alain Tascan.

Since then, Netflix has made some changes to its games business, including closing down its Team Blue triple-A studio back in October.

In the process, industry talent such as Microsoft vet Joseph Staten and Overwatch exec producer Chacko Sonny departed the firm. Earlier this year, the streaming giant made some layoffs at developer Night School Studio.
